“Honestly, a lot of my time is
spent wanting to sit down, have a cup
of tea, and read a book. The quietness of that
moment has never changed. Regardless of the position
of the stars, political climate, personal weight or
indomitable deadlines. The moments spent with a cup of
tea have been a time of limbo, of removal of these daily
worries. I regard the cup of tea to be more than leaves and
water in a cup. I consider it a treasured moment. One
that I am sure is shared by many people.
It makes me wonder about the communal aspects
of tea drinking, and of the connotations with that sharing.”
“…the reflective practice is constantly in flux but often has common aspects.
1) The activation from a catalyst, a source of material on which I am reflecting, engages me.
2) The digestion of this catalyst changes depending on its duration and may stagnate. If it is absorbed, we see it begin to:
3) Concentrate, after which it will immediately begin another set of absorption that can then be reobserved and ‘remixed’ in the same mindset as Eduardo Navas’s remix theory, is his idea of discourse via selectivity.”
